Insightful blogging from Jamie Catto

jamiecatto's avatarJamie's Blog

We have all come to earth to have an experience as an individual.

Debbie Ford says that when you are born you are a castle with a thousand rooms. Then we start boarding rooms up to please others. Most people end up as grownups thinking they are a three bedroom flat that needs some work.

We decide to shut ourselves down in different ways until we are a lot smaller, less open to each other unconditionally, fearful, “once bitten twice shy,” weary, cautious, grasping about things that we think are scarce.

We have edited ourselves down to uniquely freaky, wounded shapes. We are not tolerant, or unconditionally open…

Celery-JuiceSpring is the ideal time to add fresh greens into your diet. We can think about hundreds of recipes for Spring but before all that lets juice greens as a way of showing our bodies, that we are creating space for the new stuff. Juicing is an easy and simple way of releasing any of the heaviness of Winter and prepare our bodies for a fresh new start.

Ingredients

8 stalks of celery, 2 green apples,  fistful parsley (great for alkalizing your body), 1/2 tsp od cardamon powder, 1 tbs of hemp seeds and 1 tsp of spirulina.

Preparation

Turn the  juicer on and juice 4 stalks of celery first, then do parsley, then apples and in the end add the powdered spirulina and hemp seeds. Drink fresh!

I’ve been slowing down and I notice that the amount of time it takes to chop and peel the fruit in the morning, to eat or drink it consciously, appreciating every mouthful and every taste as if it’s the first time I’ve ever tasted it – to be present with my whole body, not just the sensations in my mouth but my whole body, as my genius system of tubes and chambers delivers and harvests the nutrition – then washing myself slowly and gently, unhurried, limb by limb, stroke by stroke –…
